The characteristics of titanium tubes!

Date:2024-03-04 16:50:13       Number of views:

1. Wall thickness of titanium tube

The wall thickness of the heat transfer tube is determined by the usage conditions, tube plate material, construction ability of the expansion operation, welding technology of the tube end, etc. Due to the small diameter of the heat transfer tube, the strength requirement is not high. Therefore, thinner wall thickness pipes are used in practical use. Generally, copper alloy pipes have a wall thickness of 0.9mm-1.2mm; Instead of using titanium pipes, thin-walled welded pipes with a wall thickness of 0.3mm can be used in less corrosive areas.

2. Thermal conductivity of titanium tubes

Due to the different materials of the heat transfer tube, the thermal conductivity also varies. For example, titanium is 17W/(m · k), aluminum brass is 100W/(m · k), and 70/30 white copper is 29W/(m · k). Therefore, the heat transfer effect of the heat transfer tube can be controlled by changing the wall thickness. Among the above materials, titanium has a low thermal conductivity. If thin-walled titanium welded pipes are used, although the thermal conductivity is worse than aluminum brass, it is equivalent to 90/10 white copper and better than 70/30 white copper.

3. Economy of titanium tubes

The unit mass price of titanium tube is 2-6 times more expensive than that of copper alloy tube. However, considering the cost performance ratio, the price of titanium tube can compete with that of copper alloy tube. Because of the low density of titanium and the same wall thickness, the quality of titanium tube with the same length is only 50% of that of copper alloy tube. When the wall thickness of titanium tube is 50% of that of copper alloy tube, the quality of titanium tube with the same heat transfer area is only 1/4 of that of copper alloy tube. According to the current price level, The overall price of using thin-walled titanium welded pipes is the same as aluminum copper pipes, but cheaper than white copper pipes. It can be seen that titanium tubes are competitive in terms of price.
